Miami Century Hotel model in plaster made by Chisel & Mouse
Condition: this model was displayed at CaixaForum Madrid and CaixaForum Barcelona, and was returned in its current status. Brass frames are very slightly dented inwards (See pictures). While this bend is almost imperceptible, it could also be fixed with care as the thin brass pieces are soft and malleable.
The Century Hotel is one of the most recognizable buildings on Miami’s ‘South Beach’. Built in 1939, this quaint hotel is nestled in the District with possibly the greatest selection of Art Deco buildings in the world.
Even there, among other world famous constructions, the Century simply stands out from the crowd wth its architectural class and elegance, placement, and ‘tropicality’.
Made of strong plaster that has a reassuring weight and smooth and cool feel. Window frame and railings are made of etched brass.
Handmade in Sussex, England.
