Bauhaus Dessau Building model in plaster by Chisel & Mouse

Condition: this model was displayed at CaixaForum Madrid and CaixaForum Barcelona, and was returned in its current status. Brass frames are dented inwards (See picture). They could be fixed with care as the thin brass pieces are soft and malleable.

A very high quality decorative replica of the Staatliches Bauhaus Dessau School facade.

With the new Bauhaus headquarters in Dessau, Gropius put in practice his ambition to design processes of living, in order to unite art, technology, and aesthetics in the search for functionality.

“The new building of the future, which will accommodate everything —architecture, sculpture, and painting— in one entity and which will rise to the sky by the hands of a million artisans, a crystal clear symbol of a new faith which has arrived…”

Made of strong plaster that has a reassuring weight and smooth and cool feel. Window frame and railings are made of etched brass.

Handmade in Sussex, England.
